D/F Water-Cooled TIG High Frequency BarrelsThe D/F Tube Mill 600 (TM600) Water-Cooled TIG High Freq Docking Spool® Barrels will help reach maximum output of the tube mill by increased tube mill weld speeds, increased arc stability for optimum weld quality and consistency, and maximum number of hours of welding electrode tip life, thus reducing mill shut downs and start ups also reducing the amount of scrap produced.
The Remote/Direct Mounted 600 Amp Water-Cooled TIG Tube Mill Machine Barrels are ideal for mechanized or robotic pipe/roll forming welding applications. The Docking Spool® body is the principal component in the welding equipment arrangement. It accepts the utilities at the top of the body and provides a means of accepting the water-cooled nozzle assembly at the lower end, allowing easy conversions and quick repairs. D/F nozzles (also called gas cups) provide a given amount of shielding gas coverage to the weld pool, according to their size (anywhere from 1/4” through 3/4”). For example, a smaller nozzle provides less gas coverage than a larger one. Nozzles also vary in price and performance. The Tube Mill Model TM600-CN (ceramic nozzle) Water-Cooled TIG Barrel has a current capability of 600 amperes. Tungsten diameters of .040” thru 5/32” are fastened by a collet action nut. The barrel will accommodate 12” tungsten. The Tube Mill Model TM600-MN (metallic nozzle) is also rated at 600 amperes. It also has the same tungsten range and lengths as the Tube Mill Model TM600-CN. Model conversion can simply be made by applying the proper items required. Not only is the torch completely insulated from the constant high frequency, but also the mounting bracket is insulated so that the high frequency cannot jump from the torch to the bracket. With the optional Tungsten Advance/Retract Attachment (D/F #42205) you can actually adjust the arc length by changing the height of the tungsten in 1/2 inch increments through 5 inches of the 7 inch tungsten. This attachment is only made for fine adjustments, and when the tungsten needs to be either replaced or sharpened, you can pull out extension shaft and the tungsten for only these purposes. If you ball up and contaminate the tungsten you have to take off the gas cup and use a tungsten cutter and cut off the ball and then you can pull it out. The advanced retract is made to withdraw the tungsten to be re-sharpened or replaced, not when it has been balled up. If this is used properly, the tungsten should not be contaminated because you have the fine adjustment. MODEL EXPLANATION FEATURES
