- Using a water-cooled torch will keep the tip cooler and lasting longer.
- Make sure the gun isn't worn out or that weld spatter is not on the tip.
- Be sure the tip never enters the weld pool.
- Make sure to maintain factory tip set-backs and terminal distances.
- For hard cored & flux cored wires use a CrZr (Chromium Zirconuim) tip.
- Always use factory D/F tips. After-market non-factory consumables are not to spec and are made with lesser grade materials.
